Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, playing a key role in creating a welcoming, efficient experience while supporting daily front office operations in a fast-paced medical practice.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Experience

  • Greet and check in/out patients in a warm and professional manner
  • Ensure a positive, welcoming environment for all patients and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow
Scheduling & Front Desk Operations
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures
  • Answer and manage a multi-line phone system
  • Work appointment waitlists to fill open time slots
  • Process referrals and coordinate patient scheduling
Insurance & Patient Financial Responsibilities
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
  • Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
  • Communicate anticipated patient responsibility prior to visits
  • Assist patients with basic billing and account questions
Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information
  • Manage incoming faxes, emails, and patient messages
  • Scan and upload documents into patient charts (EMR)
  • Maintain an organized and efficient front office environment
Qualifications
  • 1–2+ years of front desk, administrative, or customer service experience (medical office preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn EMR systems
  • Experience with insurance verification preferred

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in a busy office environment preferred

 
Mental/Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer and calculator; stooping, bending to handle supplies, or sitting for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
