Position Summary
Our growing physician-owned ENT practice is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting physicians and advanced practice providers during patient visits, assisting with clinical procedures, coordinating patient care, and ensuring efficient daily operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Support
  • Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and visit-specific information.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations, office procedures, and treatments.
  • Perform surgical preps, simple dressing changes, and other approved clinical duties within scope of practice.
  • Ensure patient charts are accurate, complete, and prepared prior to appointments.
  • Document patient interactions and clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Care Coordination
  • Schedule diagnostic testing, procedures, referrals, follow-up appointments, and treatments as directed by providers.
  • Communicate test instructions, appointment information, and follow-up needs to patients.
  • Monitor and respond to patient phone calls and voicemail messages in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist with insurance authorizations, including CT scans and other diagnostic procedures as assigned.

Clinical Operations
  • Prepare, clean, and stock exam and treatment rooms.
  • Maintain medical equipment and ensure instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stocked.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering clinical supplies.
  • Properly label specimens and ensure completion of all required documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment in accordance with infection control standards.

Team Collaboration
  • Cross-train and provide support to other departments as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, training initiatives, and process improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a patient-first attitude at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Office Manager, Practice Administrator, or Providers.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
Preferred
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • Previous experience in an ENT, specialty, or physician practice setting.
  • Experience with insurance authorizations and coordination of care.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the clinic throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to assist patients and move clinical equipment as needed.
