Position Summary
The LPN/RN will work closely with the physician to support daily clinical operations, ensure high-quality patient care, and maintain efficient patient flow. This role involves assisting in exam rooms, documenting clinical notes, processing prescriptions, and supporting in-office procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and highly comfortable using computers and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.Key Responsibilities
- Assist the physician during patient visits, including rooming patients and supporting clinical workflows.
- Accurately document patient encounters, medical histories, and physician notes in the EMR.
- Call in prescriptions and manage medication refill requests per physician direction.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist with in-office procedures and minor interventions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols.
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and staff.
- Perform clinical tasks such as vital signs, injections, wound care, and specimen collection (as permitted by licensure).
- Support overall clinic efficiency by anticipating provider and patient needs.
- Uphold HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards at all times.
- Supervising medical assistants, managing work schedules for medical assistants, ordering supplies for two office locations, and maintaining inventory.
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license in the state of practice (required).
- 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred; specialty experience a plus.
- Proficiency with computers and EMR systems (required).
- Strong communication, documentation, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
